This is a news from sinchew daily on 29 August 2008. After 15th September, the bus fare will increase 30% in Malaysia.
In my view, the bus fare should not be increase at this critical time. It will burden the nation especially for the low income families. As a student, I felt the increase 30% of bus fare is unreasonable because diesel price was dropped.
In order to against the inflation and high cost of diesel, the bus company should think for another way to increase their profits but not reassign the burden to the consumers.
Besides, the authority should distribute more licenses to other new companies so that it will become competitive among the company. Hence, the quality and customer service will be improved.
